Franka Frankowska is a visual artist who primarily works with photography and video. By repeatedly returning to the same places, she develops her work through recurring encounters, attentive listening, and spatial observation. She studied architecture at the University of Liechtenstein and the Technical University of Munich, and later pursued an artistic programme at the Friedl Kubelka School for Independent Film and Artistic Photography in Vienna, as well as studying as a guest student at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
