Franka Frankowska is a visual artist based in Vienna and Basel working primarily with photography, performance, and video. She develops long-term projects through research based approach. Often returning to the same places, she builds bodies of work through repeated encounters, listening and spatial observation. Drawing on her personal experiences, her work addresses broader spatial and social issues.

She studied architecture at the University of Liechtenstein and TU Munich and later artistic photography at the Schule Friedl Kubelka in Vienna. She is currently a visiting student at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Wien.
